I discovered Tableau at the end of 2014. Since then and until 2024 I’ve used it almost every day for personal and professional projects.
After 10 years of experience with the platform, Packt gave me the opportunity to write a book together with Daria Kirilenko about Tableau with the main objective of going beyond the basics and more general topics covered in most of the books already available. I’m happy to share that the book is now published. It’s called Tableau Cookbook for Experienced Professionals. You can find it in Amazon both in physical and digital versions.
Who is this book for?
If you are a BI administrator, Data Analyst or Tableau Developer who is experienced with Tableau’s platform looking to improve your skills and take your Tableau knowledge to the next level, this book is for you. If you are less experienced with Tableau but highly skilled with other BI solutions, you would also benefit from this book as it will teach you real-life use cases and solutions beyond the basics.
¿What you will learn?
Readers will learn how to build performant data models, follow best practices to keep their data and content secure, maximizing performance, building advanced calculations to answer complex business questions, learning how to move from dashboards to analytical & data apps with interactivity, Zone Visibility and visualization best practices, and scale the platform possibilities with APIs and TabPy.
By the end of this book, you will have learned a range of advanced Tableau techniques not only to take your analyses to the next level, but to also keep dashboards performant and manage the platform following best practices to benefit your entire organization.
For me, it has been a pleasure working with Daria and the Packt team to publish my first book. A unique and great experience. Hopefully, it will help anyone who reads it learning something new and improving their skills. If you read the book and want to share any comment or feedback, feel free to contacto me.
